Schoolwide Enrichment Model (SEM) has been implemented at MARA Junior Science College (MRSM) since 1988. MRSM Kulim implemented SEM before being transferred to MRSM Taiping in 1991. SEM was initially enacted for the Smart Intelligence Education Program then developed and used in educational institutions as Innovation to improve achievement under the 'school improvement program'.
The SEM Implementation at MRSM is an innovation in the Malaysian education system to meet the needs of academic intelligent smart students by providing a conducive school environment and challenging educational programs. Smart students can spend their work quickly.
They need to be given additional training to avoid them getting bored in class, compacting and diffrentation methods practiced in the P & P process According to Renzulli, handicapped children are provided with special programs to face learning difficulties. Why do not we have a program for smart students. Implementation of SEM offers a variety of services to students that enable them to identify interests and further develop them through triad enrichment with Type 1 enrichment, Type 2 enrichment and Type 3 enrichment.
